The second installment of this epic franchise is just as flawless as the first. There are many exciting moments and the script continues to echo Tolkien's epic masterpiece flawlessly. In The Towers, we are introduced to the land of Rohan and we meet new characters to love like King Theoden, Eowyn, Eomer, and Grima Wormtongue, the last of whom is played perfectly by Brad Dourif.

This is also the first time we get to see Gollum, played impeccably by Andy Serkis in a role that would launch his career and make him the king of motion capture. He manages to instill emotion and substance into a character that is entirely CGI, a feat that is not easy and deserves much praise.

The Two Towers marks the first epic battle scene of the franchise. The Battle of Helms Deep is one of the most incredible battle scenes ever filmed and Peter Jackson continues to prove why he was the perfect director to helm such an iconic franchise.

The Two Towers wonderfully continues the journey of Sam and his quest to destroy the Ring. The film is filled with many exciting moments and new characters. The world of Men is introduced, with places like Rohan and Gondor playing a significant role. We are also shown new characters like King Theoden and Grima Wormtongue, the latter of whom played wonderfully by the always reliable Brad Dourif.

After hinting at him in the previous installment, we are finally given our first real look at Gollum, played perfectly by Andy Serkis. His performance is stunning, doing justice to one of the most recognizable characters in literature history. His motion capture performance mixed with the impeccable work of WETA has really brought this character to life.

A final mention should be given to The Battle of Helms Deep. It is one of the most incredible battle sequences in the entire trilogy and still stands as one of my favorite moments. Peter Jackson continues to prove he is the man for the job by giving us an incredible second installment. Fans will continued to be more than impressed.
