I didn't expect much from Ted 2, but I was pleasantly surprised. This sequel is just as good as the first, providing hilarious gags and acting as a half-decent social commentary. The film once again feels like a film-length Family Guy episode, which is perfectly fine as I happen to think Seth MacFarlane has a great sense of humor
Surprisingly, it was Mark Wahlberg this time around who made me laugh the most. He really upped his game from the first film, especially the scenes where he is stoned off his ass. I also enjoyed the surprise cameo from Liam Neeson, who used his trademark tough guy persona to buy Trix cereal from Ted. This scene stood out as one of the funniest in the film. Then, in the third act, we got to see New York Comic-Con with Patrick Warburton as The Tick and Michael Dorn as Worf. These in-jokes as well as several running gags helped make this film a great sequel. Seth MacFarlane has definitely not lost his comedic touch, despite what many critics say. Ted 2 is a solid sequel and a funny movie, acting as a great continuation of the first film. In this case, the critics were wrong and this film deserves a chance. |
Ted 2, while never surpassing the original, does a wonderful job of being just as entertaining as the original. It features tons of great jokes, both old and new, and a lot of the signature humor that Seth MacFarlane is known for. Mark Wahlberg provides another hilarious performance with the talking teddy bear. MacFarlane once again knocks it out of the park with this film.
As stated earlier, Mark Wahlberg is hysterical and provides a ton of big laughs. Some scenes that standout in particular are when Ted finds his porn on his laptop and when he gets amazingly stoned. While Mila Kunis was missing from this film, Amanda Seyfried was enjoyable as a pop culture illiterate lawyer. Just like the last film, Ted 2 is filled with hilarious cameos. The best one being Liam Neeson buying a box of cereal. The use of his tough guy persona and delivery of the lines made the scene absolutely hysterical. The climactic Comic Con fight scene was great, especially seeing several iconic characters duke it out. Seth MacFarlane has once again showed he not only has a knack for comedy, but for movies as well as television. Ted 2 is a solid sequel that's just as good as the original and features a ton of the usual Family Guy humor. I really enjoyed Ted 2 and would recommend it to fans. |
