Star Wars Episode VI:
|
Return of the Jedi is my personal favorite of the franchise, mostly because it's the epic finale. I love the journey of Star Wars and this film ends Anakin Skywalker's story with a bang.
First off, we get the epic first act with the attack on Jabba the Hutt's palace. It's one of the coolest opening scenes ever and tells audiences what to expect right out of the gate. Then, we get a fantastic send-off for Yoda and another major plot twist involving Luke's family. I won't spoil it but the movie's been out for 32 years. So, come on. What makes Return of the Jedi my favorite is the epic battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader on the second Death Star. The battle is both exciting and sad at the same time, and John Williams's somber score only adds to the intensity. The original trilogy is one of the greatest film franchises in history and its final film only adds to its sheer epicness. |
Return of the Jedi is an excellent final installment in the original trilogy. It brings the story to a satisfying close, all while bringing plenty of the action and humor the series is known for. The Battle of Endor is one of the series most epic and the climactic battle between Luke and Darth Vader is captivating. Talk about going out with a bang.
The film starts off on an exciting note, with the characters having to rescue a frozen Han Solo from the clutches of Jabba the Hutt. This was a great way to start to the film off on, giving the audience a taste of what to expect and introducing the famous golden bikini. It's amazing how iconic that has become. The film quickly switches to the planet of Endor, which leads to one of the series most climactic conclusions. It was beyond cool to see the fight on the planet, in the sky, and on the newly built Death Star. Speaking of which, this installment features the epic Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. This was a long time coming and the fight doesn't disappoint. Return of the Jedi also marked the full appearance of Emperor Palpatine, who is quite the imposing figure. The last installment of the epic Star Wars saga is just as satisfying as the rest. The original trilogy in the Star Wars sagas gone on to be considered on of the greatest trilogies of all time, and for good reason. Return of the Jedi just further proves that point. |
