Star Wars Episode V:
|
The Empire Strikes Back is quite possibly the greatest sequel ever made. It takes everything we loved about the first one and multiplies it by ten. And for a film series targeted primarily at kids, it's considerably darker.
Darth Vader is actually scary in this one, with his voice being far deeper and more terrifying, and his theme music is easily one of the best film scores in the entire franchise (it's definitely the most iconic). In The Empire Strikes Back, we get to see some of the most memorable and iconic moments in the franchise's long history, including the Battle of Hoth and Luke's first battle with Vader. The Empire Strikes Back is definitely an exciting film and fans are pretty much in agreement that it's the best of the franchise. To me, it's a groundbreaking sequel that will forever be considered great. |
The Empire Strikes Back not only proved that some sequels can be far superior to the original film, but it has gone on to being considered the best one in the entire franchise. It vastly improves on everything we loved about the first movie and introduced several new elements. With that said, this entry in particular is considerably darker than any of the of the other films in the franchise. Regardless, families will still love watching this together.
The second installment in the original trilogy sees several new additions to the already massive Star Wars saga. These include places like the planets Hoth, Dagobah and Cloud City, along with fan favorite characters Lando Calrissian and Yoda. All of these additions are fantastic and have quickly become iconic with the series. Speaking of characters, Darth Vader returns as the villain, and he is even more frightening than before. He is now a more ruthless leader who is never afraid to Force choke his generals to death if they fail him. His theme music is among the best, and iconic, film scores in the entire franchise. Lastly, this installment features the iconic fight scene between Vader and Luke Skywalker, where one of cinemas most famous lines of dialogue is spoken. Something that would forever change the franchise. I, like many fans, consider The Empire Strikes Back to be the best Star Wars film in the entire franchise. It's an exciting film that would forever change the history of Star Wars. It also finally proved that sequels can be much bette than the original film. |
