Jigsaw may be dead, but the games are far from over. Saw IV showed us that there are still many stories to be told and many games to be played. This entry introduced us to FBI Agents Perez and Strahm, who are clearly being groomed to be the heroes of this franchise provided Jigsaw's apprentice doesn't kill them first.

What's really cool about this one is that it's happening at exactly the same time as the events of Saw III. While Jeff plays his game, Lt. Rigg plays his as well and the fallout from both will fuel the fire of the remainder of the series.

Even though Jigsaw died in the last film, that doesn't mean his games are over. This entry not only deals with the aftermath of Jigsaw's death, but also lays the groundwork for future installments. Agents Strahm and Perez are introduced in this entry, giving us characters to root for in the series. As long as they're not killed.

I really liked how this entry takes place during the same time as Saw III, really showing how far ahead Jigsaw thinks. The end of the film does a great job of wrapping up the current storyline and setting up an interesting way to continue the franchise.
