8/10
Saw II totally lived up to the horror and intensity of the first installment. Donnie Wahlberg was a surprisingly enjoyable lead and we finally got a deeper look at the man himself, Jigsaw, played fantastically by Tobin Bell. I liked the idea of having a group of people as opposed to just two, as it gave me more people to root for.

You can clearly see the roots for a solid franchise growing here and the characters we are introduced to this time around will pop up again in larger roles in the sequels, a trait that I really enjoy about the Saw franchise.

9/10
Saw II was a worthy sequel that successfully continues the story of Jigsaw. This was the first time in the franchise that we get to fully see and understand John Kramer, AKA Jigsaw. Tobin Bell did an absolutely fantastic job as the character, creating a compelling horror villain that has now become an icon. Donnie Wahlberg also did a great as a cop who is desperately trying to find out where his son is.

Wahlberg and Bell had a lot of great chemistry together, making their scenes a complete joy to watch. The storyline involving the group of people trapped in the house was intriguing and introduced a lot of characters who would appear in future films. This was a solid second installment that solidified the franchise and laid the groundwork for future sequels.
