For an American remake of a freaky Korean thriller, this film is actually decent. I'm not usually a fan of remakes or Spike Lee movies, but I was surprised by how faithful this was to the original film, as well as by the many great performances. Also, I respect that they kept the more disturbing events in the film, which they usually omit in remakes of foreign films. While I did enjoy some aspects of it, it is nothing when compared to the original.

While I'm generally not a fan of Spike Lee, this wasn't that bad of a movie. The movie kept the tone of the original throughout and kept quite a bit intact. I was actually pleasantly surprised that they kept the twist in the end intact, along with a few changes to it that worked well within the movie. The performances were great throughout. While I did enjoy the original film a lot more, this was a solid film that kept what made the original work and made a few changes along the way.
