Oldboy was a highly disturbing film that may freak out certain people. The overall story is brilliant storytelling and the acting is superb, but several events in the film (mostly the twist at the end) were nothing short of disturbing and messed up. It's a great film and a good introduction to South Korean cinema. If you can get passed all of the messed up stuff, it's worth checking out.

An absolutely brilliant and disturbing movie that will really mess with anyone who dares to watch it. The story is excellent and consistently engaging throughout. The acting is exceptionally, especially with the main character. The twist at the end of the film, while great and unexpected, is also extremely disturbing and will linger in your mind for a while. This is a great movie to show to someone who is interested in foreign cinema. It is definitely one of my favorites in foreign cinema.
