I was so excited when I found out they were finally going ahead with the long-awaited sequel to Anchorman. The film did not disappoint. While it did not surpass the perfection of the first film, it does feel like it belongs. The newsteam still retains their impeccable chemistry, with Steve Carell obviously stealing the show as Brick Tamland. Some of the new characters were actually pretty funny, like James Marsden's Jack Lime (or is it Lame?) and Greg Kinnear's possibly psychic Gary.

The best scene in the movie is by far the news team brawl near the end, which totally surpasses the first one's. With unbelievable cameos and even more channels, the fight is on its way to becoming a classic scene of comedy. I'm glad this movie didn't tarnish the memory of the first one, and actually delivered a funny movie that is watchable.

8/10
A comedy film which proved that not all comedy sequels suck. After years of waiting, the sequel finally came out and turned out to be absolutely hilarious. The plot once again did a great job of poking fun at news, specifically 24 hour news network and the type of news that is broadcast. It did this expertly while providing tons of laughs along the way. The cast completely fell back into their characters with ease, regardless of the huge gap between the two films. Will Ferrell is once again excellent as Ron Burgundy. Steve Carell once again steals the show as the dimwitted, but lovable, Brick Tamland.

The new cast members integrate into the cast nicely, adding even more laughs to the film. The news team fight scene is even more epic than the first one's. It even includes some seriously awesome cameos! Overall, while the film never matches the manic heights of the original, this is still the rare comedy sequel that works. It's hilarious and a great addition to the first one.
