Anchorman: The Legend
|
Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies and it makes me laugh harder each time I see it. It is, in my opinion, Will Ferrell's greatest role and his performance has turned Ron Burgundy into a cultural icon. But while Ron is played to perfection, the real star of Anchorman is Brick Tamland, played hilariously by Steve Carell. His deadpan delivery of every hilarious line is perfect. This film is one of the funniest and most quotable films of my generation and is destined to become a classic.

Anchorman is, by far, one of the best comedies of this generation. The film is insanely funny, with jokes constantly coming and quotable lines throughout. The plot does a phenomenal job of poking fun at not only the news, but the sexism at the time. The film also works thanks to the goofy, but lovable, characters. Will Ferrell is at his finest as the title character, Ron Burgundy. He is funny to watch and has tons of quotable lines.
The standout of this film, though, is Steve Carell as Brick Tamland. His comedic timing with the delivery of his lines created some of the best, and funniest, laughs from the film. Paul Rudd and David Koechner are also great as Brian Fantana and Champ Kind, respectively. The film is also filled with great cameos and one of the best news anchors fight scenes I've seen. A truly hilarious film full of quotable lines and is well on its way to be considered a classic. |
