Dream Warriors was a vast improvement over the horrible Freddy's Revenge and really seemed to inhabit the spirit of the first film. It was great to see Nancy again and the idea of placing the terror in a mental hospital really upped the entertainment factor.
Robert Englund continues to shine as Freddy, becoming increasingly more comical as the series continues. While there were some moments that were laughably bad (I'm looking at you, Wizard Master), Dream Warriors easily remains one of the best in the Elm Street series. |
This film proved to be a vast improvement over the abysmal second entry. It kept the scariness of the first film while adding a little bit more of a comedy element. The film smartly ignored the events from Freddy's Revenge and, instead, acted as more of a direct followup. Having Nancy come back to the franchise was a great decision that really deepened the conflict between her and Freddy.
Speaking of Freddy, Robert continues to be the perfect actor for the role. At this point, it's hard to see anyone else take over the role. While the story may sound a little ridiculous, it actually works really well and it's good to see some kids who want to fight back against Freddy. Dream Warriors, to this day, continues to be on of the best sequels in the franchise and one of my personal favorites. "Welcome to primetime, bitch." |
