After seeing the first phenomenal Elm Street movie, I was expecting a sequel that was greater or at least on equal footing with it. Boy, was I surprised. Freddy's Revenge was a terrible movie that had a virtually unreadable script with horribly unfleshed characters, even for a horror franchise entry. Robert Englund still shines as Freddy, but fails to save this movie from itself. Apart from the climactic scene where Freddy goes berserk at a barbecue, I would absolutely not recommend this abysmal dreck.

Like a lot of horror movie sequels, this was a sharp downturn from the excellent first film. This was both a terrible sequel and just all around terrible film. The plot is very incoherent, with a lot of characters' motives and Freddy's overall plan not making that much sense. The characters are not that likable with not of them standing out from the others.

There are, believe it or not, some positives, though. Robert Englund once again steals the show as Freddy, showing us he always born to play this role. The climactic scene of Freddy going berserk at the party is, to this day, one of the series's highlights. It also features the iconic line, "You are all my children now." Besides from those positives, this is generally a very disappointing entry in the franchise.
