Warrior is one of the most badass films I've ever seen, as well as one of the most uplifting. Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton were phenomenal as Tommy and Brendan Conlon, providing fantastic performances that are heartbreaking and believable. Nick Nolte was also stellar as their father who, despite being an abusive drunk, you feel really bad for throughout the film. Warrior features MMA fighting, which is rarely seen in movies but deserves its own genre, because it is beyond exciting.
This is a realistic story about an estranged family that is built around an MMA tournament, blending the two with tremendous ease and making a great movie in the process. |
