This Is Spinal Tap is a funny, quirky, and highly original self-proclaimed "rockumentary" from four masterminds of comedy. In this film, we are introduced to the loudest and most oblivious rock band to ever come out of England: Spinal Tap.
Legendary comedic actors Christopher Guest and Michael McKean lead this talented cast and succeed in winning over any audience with their trademark quirks and bizarre behavior. For a film about a fake rock band, the music is actually pretty badass and sticks in your head, particularly "Stonehenge" and "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight." This film is a precursor to modern mockumentary film and television comedies (i.e. The Office and Parks and Recreation). It takes what could have been a ridiculous premise and turns it into something memorable and hilarious. In other words, it takes the normal standard of comedy and cranks it up to eleven. |
