The Pact is an average horror film, delivering the same old scares without bringing anything new to the table. The performances are average as well, with very little standouts. What did make this film a slight winner, though, is the well-written script.
The film starts out as a ghost story and leads you in every direction you would expect a ghost story to go in. Then, suddenly, it jerks the wheel and becomes something else entirely. This sudden change in subject matter was unexpected and really creepy, but failed to add any substance to the film. Overall, The Pact leaves much to be desired and shrivels in the place of superior ghost films. It isn't terrible, but it is far from perfect. |
