The Matrix is one of the coolest action movies of all time. It's original, action-packed, and has one of the best villains of all time. While the film is undeniably dated, it still somehow holds up today, which is always a good sign.
Keanu Reeves leads this cast, in a role that will define him until the end of time. He has yet to stop playing some form of Neo in all of his films post-Matrix, but in this badass action/sci-fi flick he shines. Then there's Hugo Weaving in his breakout role as Agent Smith, one of the best movie villains of the 1990's. He steals the show, providing a scary yet subtle performance for the ages. The Matrix has stood the test of time and remains of the best action films ever made. Its odd philosophical ramblings may not make much sense, but it won't keep you from enjoying this film. |
