The Life Aquatic

I've really been enjoying Wes Anderson's work, and this film is no exception. Bill Murray leads a solid cast in a smart comedy that is entertaining from beginning to end. The character of Steve Zissou is so contrary to reality that every moment he's on screen is just delightful, and Murray plays him to perfection. Willem Dafoe stood out as the hilarious Klaus, a character out of Dafoe's usual wheelhouse that is simply fun to watch.
The film also maintains an air of drama, showing us the cost of revenge. Overall, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is easily one of the best comedies of the 2000's. |
