Swingers is a 90's cult classic that showcases the early talents of Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. It's a hilarious comedy with a talented cast and a gorgeous script. It's funny to see how certain guys perceive dating. To some, it's terrifying. To others, it's a hunt.
Jon Favreau is insanely likable as Mike, the down-and-out friend who just got out of a long relationship and has no idea how to go about dating. Vince Vaughn is hilarious as his friend Trent, who dedicates his life to helping Mike get some action. The back-and-forths between these two characters is the heart of the movie. The film acts as a sort of how-to guide for guys who have no idea how to talk to women. You can either take the Trent approach and be an alpha male or you can pull a Mike and be the sensitive guy. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that Swingers is a really good film and a fun watch. |
