This season kicked some serious ass. What more can be said about it? Supernatural's fifth season was clearly the season where the show peaked, with its epic struggle of good vs. evil and the fight against the freakin' Devil. I'm not saying the post-five seasons were all bad, some of them were great. But they never came close to the sheer epicness of these incredible 22 episodes.
Mark Pellegrino plays maybe the best interpretation of Lucifer I've ever seen, and the integration of Castiel into the core group was a brilliant writing decision. What makes this one so interesting is that the finale could have easily worked for a series finale, but the producers had other ideas, I suppose. Still, this season is beyond amazing and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. |
The best season of this highly entertaining show. While the seasons after were pretty good, this is definitely the show's peak and has the best storyline. The ultimate struggle between good and evil is realized in these 22 episodes, with the Winchester boys having to fight the devil himself, Lucifer. Speaking of which, Mark Pellegrino is exceptional as Lucifer, portraying both a terrifying villain and a sympathetic individual.
Castiel was also amazing this season as he was brought into the core group, being both essential to the team and providing some classic humorous moments. While the season deals with a very serious issue, it still found time to provide some hilarious episodes. The finale was also the best in the series, working great as both a series and season finale. For fans of the show, this is the best season that will leave you highly entertained. |
