Written by Robbie Fox Starring Mike Myers, Nancy Travis, Anthony LaPaglia, Amanda Plummer, Brenda Fricker |
So I Married an Axe Murderer is a criminally underrated comedy that deserves much more praise than it got. It's one of Mike Myers's earliest film roles and it proved to the world that he had the chops to carry non-SNL related properties. It's a charming film about true love and fearing commitment, with some of the funniest secondary characters ever.
Myers also plays his own father in the film, a very loud Scottish man who owns every scene he's in. Not to mention Anthony LaPaglia's hilarious performance as Tony, Myers's cop friend who wishes his job was more like cops on TV. Overall, I really like this film and think it deserves more attention. |
