This film was very disappointing. It was a preachy, boring film that dragged on for a good two hours plus. The only thing this film had going for it were the special effects and the cool design of the fallen angels. The performances were dry and the story suffered because of it. I did not like this film and do not recommend it.

While Noah deviates from its source material greatly at times, it still proved to be a good movie that delivered the same basic message from the original story. The idea of God giving man a second chance at life after destroying the Earth was, thankfully, kept intact for the movie.

As for the changes, I actually liked a good bit of them. Even though I was a little off put by the characters never using the word God in the movie at first, I actually got used to it and enjoyed the name for him instead, The Creator. I also thought the fallen angels were really neat in the film, with the backstory and look being really cool.

Russell Crowe was excellent as Noah, portraying a man leading by blind faith alone. Anthony Hopkins was a welcome addition as a wise, old man who is Noah's grandfather. Ray Winstone is also great as Tubal-caine, the nemesis of Noah and descendant of Cain who is determined to get on the Ark.

I really enjoyed Noah, regardless of the changes in detail. It was a thrilling, superbly acted, and beautiful looking film that keeps the original message of the story intact. I recommend that everyone gives this movie a chance on its own merits.
