5/10
Night of the Comet was a disappointing, laughably bad cult hit from 1984 that is incredibly dated. It is poorly written, with no explanation given for why some people are killed by the comet and others are turned into zombies. The acting is subpar at best, leaving virtually nothing to like about this 80's cliche-fest.

The premise had potential, with an interstellar comet coming to Earth and leaving wanton destruction in its wake. The two sisters who are left, Regina and Samantha (Catherine Mary Stewart and Kelli Maroney), fail as protagonists, as they are both annoying and are not the type of people I root for in a zombie film.

The plot is all over the place, with the third act ending up as a confusing mess. I do not recommend this film, as it brought me nothing but disappointment. While I do not usually support remakes, this is one film I would be in favor of somebody redoing.
