Monsters, Inc. is one of Pixar's crowning achievements. From the charmingly quirky score by Randy Newman to the incredible attention to detail with the CGI, this film has aged like a fine wine and still holds up even fourteen years later.
Even as voice actors, John Goodman and Billy Crystal have fantastic chemistry. Their work as Sulley and Mike respectively is some of their best, along with Steve Buscemi and the late James Coburn. Surprisingly, I found the character of Boo to be quite possibly the most adorable character Pixar has ever created. She steals the whole movie. Monsters, Inc. is a hilarious take on the classic monster-in-the-closet trope and continues to stand as one of Pixar's masterpieces. I know that I will continue to watch it for years to come, just like every other person who grew up with Pixar's early work. |
