Apokolips War is essentially the Avengers: Endgame of DC's animated film universe. It caps off a 16-film continuity that began with 2013's The Flashpoint Paradox, resulting in some of the most exciting and well-written comic book films of all time. In fact, right there is a perfect blueprint to a winning DC live-action film universe, but I'll leave that alone for now. Apokolips War is one hell of an epic finale to this story. It combines the fantasy and sci-fi elements of DC's roster to make an epic conclusion where Superman, John Constantine, and whoever is left of the Justice League must make one final push to destroy Darkseid forever. Every DC fan will lose their shit with this one, I guarantee it.

Darkseid has won. The Justice League has been destroyed. Earth has been conquered, and only a few pockets of resistance are left. Superman (O'Connell) lives, but he's now powerless. He and Lois Lane (Romijn) lead a resistance and have a plan, but they need the help of John Constantine (Ryan), who has abandoned the League. With the combined help of what's left of the Teen Titans and the Suicide Squad, Superman puts his plan into action, resulting in one of the most exciting battles I've seen in film.

I'll never understand why these guys aren't handling every aspect of DC's film and TV production. They are the best at handling these properties, and I bet it's because they're fans. Kevin Feige at Marvel, Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni with Star Wars, these guys love and respect the properties they're turning into films and TV shows. DC doesn't have that outside the DCAU, and if DC could produce just one live-action film that's even close to the gloriousness of Apokolips War, everything will change for them.
