John Wick was a surprisingly badass action flick that proved Keanu Reeves can still kick serious ass. It's not your average revenge thriller. There's a twist on it that adds a significant layer of drama to the film, with Keanu actually giving the character substance. The supporting cast was stellar, especially Willem Dafoe and Michael Nyqvist. John Wick is easily one of the best action films of the past ten years and with a potential franchise being talked about, I hope to see more of John Wick in the future.
What makes John Wick such an awesome film is how simple the plot is. This film proved that you don't need a complex plot to make a good movie. Keanu Reeves is really the only person who could have brought the character of John Wick to life. His calm, cool acting actually makes John Wick more terrifying and every character's reaction to him is either one of great respect or great terror. This film is absolutely fantastic and there's no way it won't make waves in the action world. We will definitely see John Wick again. |
John Wick was a badass action movie that was a hell of a good time. The story was simple but surprisingly engaging, giving the audience amazing action scenes and well developed characters. Keanu Reeves excels in the title role, portraying a character who is both sympathetic and a ruthless killing machine. He gives the film a lot of substance and proves he can still be a force to be reckoned with. The supporting cast is also great. Willem Dafoe was enjoyable in his role as a friend of John Wick. Michael Nyqvist was a joy to watch as the head of the Russian mafia that John Wick is after.
The action scenes are beyond impressive in this film. Keanu Reeves show he can still kick some serious ass. While there were a lot of memorable action moments, there were two that stood out to me. The dance club scene and when he uses his car as a weapon towards the end. The film also set up a really cool idea with the hotel called The Continental. This was a really neat concept that I hope to see in future films. This was one of the best action movies I've seen in a while that has completely restored my faith in Keanu Reeves. I really hope that this becomes a franchise, especially with talks of a sequel already happening. |
