The plot for this film was so intriguing to me as a kid and still blows my mind today. The film and television show, Jimmy Neutron, was created by John A. Davis, who gave me so much entertainment as a kid. I’m a fan of both and I still throw the film on occasionally because it’s eighty minutes long and hilarious.
Jimmy and his best friends, Carl and Sheen, dream of a life without their parents telling them what to do. One day, that dream comes true because aliens abduct all the parents in their town. Chaos erupts as the kids are eating unhealthy amounts of ice cream and peeing in the shower. They quickly realize how much they miss their parents and they nominate Jimmy to find and rescue them. Jimmy makes a very Tommy Pickles like decision and decides to build space crafts out of theme park rides. It’s epic. I think Jimmy Neutron stands the test of time and would be funny to anybody, even if they aren’t fans of the TV show. It was nominated for Best Animated Film at the 74th Academy Awards along with Shrek and Monsters, Inc. Fucking killer group! Jimmy Neutron is a film for everyone to enjoy with beautiful colors and good teamwork lessons within. |
