Iron Man is a badass superhero flick that introduces Phase One of the Avengers Initiative. This movie started a series that will last for decades and keep fanboys everywhere excited for the summer. It's a great way to start one of the most fantastic film franchise ever.
Robert Downey Jr. was the only actor who could bring the vibrant sarcasm of Tony Stark to life on the big screen. He is the heart and soul of the MCU, providing realism that's sometimes harsh and always hilarious. The supporting cast is great too, especially Jeff Bridges who plays a great villain. Iron Man is definitely one of Marvel's best films and its success was the reason Marvel was able to build their cinematic universe. Of the three Iron Man films, it's easily the best and remains as enjoyable as ever. |
The movie that cemented Marvel as a force to be reckoned with in the movie industry and started Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man is an excellent start to this long lasting franchise that is full of action, humor, and easter eggs that would make fanboys' heads explode. A template that would be used for future films.
Robert Downey Jr. is perfect in the role of Tony Stark. He brings all the charisma, sarcasm, and troubled soul to the character. He really is the only person who could play this part and is a huge reason for all of the films success. Gwyneth Paltrow does a good job as Pepper Potts. Her and Downey Jr. share a lot of chemistry and are one of Marvel's better romantic couples. Jeff Bridges is a lot of fun to watch as the film's villain, Obadiah Stone/Iron Monger. Iron Man is an insanely fun film that kickstarted a franchise, revived an actor's career, and still stands as the best of the trilogy. Needless to say, I highly enjoy this movie and consider it to be one of Marvel's best to this day. |
