It's rare for a film to actually make me reevaluate my choices in life. Inside Llewyn Davis accomplished this feat by showing the less glamorous side of the entertainment business and how tough it is to actually get noticed.
Oscar Isaac delivered a magnificent performance as the struggling musician Llewyn Davis, who manages to be likable even when he alienates everybody around him. Plus, his misadventures with his friend's cat provide a much-needed upbeat jump for the film from time to time. With a terrific supporting cast and another excellent script from the Coens, it's not hard to see how this film turned out so great. It will move you and it will entertain you, while simultaneously making you wonder how in the world this film didn't get more attention. |
