Donald Glover has been wowing us with his talent and range for a good while, and Guava Island simply adds onto that strong resume. He plays Deni Maroon, a musician who is set to hold a festival for the people of Guava Island. The film is Murai’s first, and he just has a knack for this shit. We will definitely being seeing his name more and more. Deni is a celebrity on this small island, and his girlfriend, Kofi (Rihanna) is a seamstress. The antagonist is Red Cargo (Anozie), a man who desires control over the island. He tries his hardest to get Deni to not go on with the festival, but the show must go on.
