Starring Michael B. Jordan, Melonie Diaz, Octavia Spencer, Kevin Durand, Chad Michael Murray, Ariana Neal |
This film showed the innate cruelty that resides in power, and how most people who use that cruelty rarely get what they deserve. Fruitvale Station was a powerful film that told us the story of Oscar Grant's last day, and how he was a good man who only wanted what was best for his family. Grant never got the justice he deserved, and this film is a glowing tribute to his memory.

An incredible film that shows the last days of Oscar Grant's life and police brutality at its worst. The story, even though you already know what happens at the end, is gripping and will punch you in the gut by the end. Michael B. Jordan plays real life character Oscar Grant to perfection. He delivers a powerhouse performance that shows us a man who made mistakes, but was working on creating a better life for himself and his family.
Kevin Durand was exceptionally in his small role as one of the cops who goes way too far in handling the situation. The film really showed how police brutality is a very real thing and something that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. The idea to use the actual footage of the shooting was brilliant and really set the mood for the rest of the film. This was an exceptionally movie that, considering Grant never got the justice he deserved, is a great tribute to his memory. |
