With every Elm Street entry, the series seemed to get progressively worse. Then, I saw this one. Freddy's Dead is without a doubt, the lowest point in the entire franchise and one of the worst movies I've ever had the displeasure of watching. The script seems like it was thrown together by a group of caged monkeys high on PCP and the so-called actors were beyond terrible, and yes I also mean Yaphet Kotto who I have actually enjoyed in the past.

The nail in this movie's coffin is a scene where Freddy kills a teen via video game complete with razor power glove. I'm not kidding, it's really in there. I warn fans of the original Elm Street, do not go down this road. Do not see what Freddy Krueger has become.

This is, without a doubt, not only the worst entry in the entire Elm Street franchise; but one of the worst films ever made. This film took everything that made Freddy terrifying, and completely spat on it. The story line is beyond incoherent, with Freddy having killed all the children in the town, even though he only originally killed the children of the parents that murdered him. It also shows that Freddy is not only capable of manipulating people's dreams, but now he can also manipulate reality. I must have missed that memo.

The acting is absolutely atrocious in this one, with actors delivering lines horribly. The characters are also some of the most irritating I've seen in a horror film. Robert Englund does his best, but he is saddled with some of the worst lines in the entire franchise. The use of 3-D in the last ten minutes was an incredibly dumb decision, coming off as the gimmick it clearly is. The only positive I have for this movie is two celebrity cameos that are actually pretty good. This movie is a humongous disappointment, a colossal piece of crap, and my least favorite in the entire franchise.
