5/10
False Positive was essentially a hipster/millennial update of Rosemary's Baby, with more grade-A sperm and less Satan. This is a film that makes very little sense, and we barely get anything to connect to. Most of the film is built on hallucinations, but there's next to no set-up and the big twist is pretty damn predictable if you're even just barely paying attention. The performances aren't terrible, but they aren't particularly memorable. Hulu hasn't had the most exciting output of films in the past few years, and if they keep it up with films like this, they'll never catch up.

Lucy (Glazer) and her husband Adrian (Theroux) are having trouble getting pregnant. Luckily, Adrian's mentor Dr. Hindle (Brosnan) is a fertility doctor, and he manages to artificially inseminate them. But Lucy becomes pregnant with twin boys and a girl, and must make a decision to abort one to save the other. From there on, it's virtually all hallucinations through Lucy's eyes. There's barely a trace of originality in this movie, with everything from the core characters to the major themes has been completely ripped-off from Rosemary's Baby, a vastly superior classic.

False Positive is going to be forgotten pretty quick. I'm giving it points for production design, visual effects, and a fairly hardcore ending. But everything building up to it is boring, confusing, and blatant theft. Hulu needs to step it up with their original films.
