I had expected Edge of Tomorrow to be an exciting sci-fi action thriller that would keep me excited the entire time. While it had its moments, this film dragged a lot and had a mildly convoluted plot. The reason behind the invasion is never explored, nor is the reason behind their ability to alter time. While I was pleasantly surprised by Tom Cruise's performance, in my opinion it did not improve this film.

Edge of Tomorrow was a fun sci-fi action film with great performances, cool story, and major video game influences. Both Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt deliver great performances and share quite a bit of chemistry. Also, you can never go wrong with casting Bill Paxton in a role.

The story is really cool with the idea of repeating the same day and unraveling the mystery behind it. This provided a lot of really cool moments as Tom Cruise's character gets closer to defeating the aliens every day. It also gave the film a nice humorous undertone, with Cruise's character reacting in some really funny ways sometime. The plot also gave the film a neat video game vibe, with the idea of resetting the day akin to the try again option in games.

I really liked Edge of Tomorrow. It was fun, action packed, and showed why Tom Cruise is still one of the better action stars out there. Fans of the sic-fi and action will definitely be pleases by this film.
