Drive was a fantastic crime thriller that really proved that less is more. Ryan Gosling had very little dialogue in this film and still crafted an interesting character that the audience cared about. The same goes for the rest of the cast, especially Ron Perlman and Albert Brooks who both played phenomenal gangsters.
Drive had an excellent soundtrack that almost made it seem like a dystopian thriller. It actually made me think of Blade Runner. There's no doubt in my mind that this film will go down as one of the best thrillers of the decade. |
This movie has a problem I like to call "why do you need to act when the music can do it for you." The main characters are stale, the main romance is almost nonexistent, and the story is barely there. If it wasn't for the very well done cinematography and the side characters played by Ron Pearlman and Bryan Cranston then this film wouldn't have any redeeming qualities.
This film has a similar feel to Blade Runner but without any depth or strength that film has.The action is alright but nothing special about it. If ur want to watch a half way decent Neo Noirs there are better movies but this isn't a bad movie to rent. |
