Bad Trip is probably the funniest hidden camera prank movie ever made. There's something about Eric André and his bizarre comedic antics that make something like this work. The closest thing to compare it to would probably be Borat, with its mixture of comedy plot and hidden pranks. But they pulled it off so well. The movie is absolutely hilarious from start to finish, especially when the unsuspecting public end up delivering some fire comebacks and one-liners themselves. It's a film that only works if it's absolutely insane.

Eric André is Chris, a loser living in Florida whose got nothing in his life but his best friend Bud (Howery). When Chris runs into his high school crush Maria (Conlin), he convinces Bud to join him on a road trip to New York to confess his love to her. But to get there, they have to steal Bud's sister's (Haddish) car, and she escapes from prison to hunt them down. Along the way, Chris and Bud do wacky shit in public and get wild reactions from real people, making this whole thing come together. It's funny as hell, and the pranks all work. For me, the standout is when Chris gets raped by a gorilla at the zoo, then goes back in to get his cellphone. Imagine witnessing that in real life.

Bad Trip is a surefire win for Netflix and hopefully gives Eric André more mainstream attention. The entire cast is fantastic, and a lot of the regular people are really funny as well. There's a musical number, a scene in a honky tonk bar, and an epic car crash. This one is a fun watch for sure.
