Austin's Dream Theater

(Nothing to do with the progressive metal band, even though they rule)

By Austin Johnson
Picture

This is super duper hypothetical and just for fun. If I were running my own theater, it would ideally have just two screens and a very small concession stand serving very few items. Soda, water, popcorn, the basics. It’s October, so right now there would be plenty of screenings of horror films. I’m going to make a schedule for the week leading up to Saturday, October 31st for this hypothetical theater, which will have two films shown on each screen everyday.

I am a pretty dedicated David Fincher fan, so my theater will totally be playing some of his shit at the beginning of every week in October and November in anticipation of Mank, which hits Netflix on December 4th. When I say some of his shit, I mean every film he has directed will be getting reps up until that wonderful December 4th release date. Screen 1 will be playing Fincher directed films on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Tuesday will see Screen 2 also feature Fincher directed films, making Tuesday, October 27th, a Fincher only kind of day.

Screen 2 isn’t tied to David Fincher on Sunday or Monday, so I threw a couple of classics in for Sunday and a couple of underrated gems for Monday.
