Airplane! is the quintessential slapstick movie that launched the comedy career of Leslie Nielsen, the king of slapstick. The story is ridiculously wonderful and the quotable one-liners are timeless. While Nielsen is obviously the standout, I have to give credit to Robert Hays, Peter Graves, and Lloyd Bridges, who were all hilariously straight-laced. This is without a doubt one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and it will forever be a comedy classic.

A laugh-out-loud, hilarious movie that never lets up on the jokes and one-liners. The film proved to be both a perfect slapstick comedy and parody film. It achieves this by telling a cohesive story and making the jokes pertain to the movies it parodies. The actors are all great, playing the comedy with a straight face that makes it all the more funnier.
The standout is Leslie Nielsen, he is absolutely hilarious throughout and comes up with great joke after great joke. This is one of the best parodies films I've seen and will surely be enjoyed by fans of comedy for years to come. |
