Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is a hilarious take on the three classic movie monsters. Combined with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's comedy genius, the film remains a timeless classic. Seeing Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr. play their respective monsters together is an exciting crossover, although I wish that Boris Karloff had been able to play the Frankenstein Monster (That's not at all knocking Glenn Strange's fantastic performance).

The plot is surprisingly coherent, with Dracula planning to put Lou Costello's brain into the Monster so he will be his mindless slave, while Lawrence Talbot (Wolf Man) tries to stop him. As I said before, seeing these actors all in the same movie gave me goosebumps. This was one of the first horror comedies to emerge with mainstream success and it clearly has staying power, as it is still one of my favorite Halloween movies.

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are an unrivaled comedy duo with terrific chemistry that shows in every one of their outings. However, Frankenstein is special, as it brought together not just the best in comedy of the time, but also the best in horror. This film is a great comedy that will remain a classic forever.
