A View to a Kill (1985)Directed by John Glen
Written by Richard Maibaum and Michael G. Wilson Starring Roger Moore, Christopher Walken, Grace Jones, Tanya Roberts, Patrick Macnee, David Yip, Willoughby Gray, Robert Brown, Desmond Llewelyn, Lois Maxwell Sequel to 1983's Octopussy Based on the short story by Ian Fleming |
Roger Moore's final outing as 007 was over-the-top and entertaining, owed mostly to Christopher Walken. Walken played the psychotic villain, Max Zorin, with hammy perfection that made every scene he was in shine with unintentional humor.
Moore himself had clearly exceeded the age at which he would be believable as a secret agent who seduced every woman he met. Overall, A View to a Kill is one of Moore's more entertaining flicks and works well as a proper send-off. |
The final film to feature Roger Moore and, while it's still not one of his best, it proves to be a fun time. The plot is decently engaging and a little enjoyable. Christopher Walken is great as the villain, Max Zorin. He is a ton of fun to watch and seems to really enjoy playing the bad guy.
By this time, Roger Moore had clearly showed he was way too old for the role of James Bond. He really should have retired the character a couple of movies ago. While this may not be one of the better Bond films, it's still entertaining and a good send-off for the Roger Moore era of James Bond. |
