European Vacation (1985)Directed by Amy Heckerling
Written by John Hughes and Robert Klane Starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Dana Hill, Jason Lively, Eric Idle, Victor Lanoux Sequel to 1983's Vacation |
European Vacation is a good romp through Europe with the Griswold family. Though it's not the funniest of the Vacation series, it is one of the best. Seeing the Griswolds wander through Europe without a clue is quite entertaining.
I think that European Vacation is the film in the franchise with the most throwaway one-liners, which is definitely a plus. Chevy Chase continues to shine as Clark Griswold and the franchise remains at an all-time high. I could have used a bit more of a supporting cast, but other than that the film is solid. |
