A Bad Moms Christmas (2017)Written and Directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore
Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, Susan Sarandon Sequel to 2016's Bad Moms |
A Bad Moms Christmas is the sequel to Bad Moms, both films written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. They both did so well financially that I expect them to capitalize with a third installment soon. Perhaps a film focused on the moms moms? I’m not counting the days for it, but I’ll definitely be checking it out if it does happen.
Mila Kunis plays the main character, Amy while Christine Baranski plays her mother, Ruth. Amy’s two best friends, Kiki and Carla are played by Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn. Their moms, Sandy and Isis are played by Cheryl Hines and Susan Sarandon. All three moms drop in unexpectedly, right before Christmas causing Amy, Kiki, and Carla to take Christmas back before their moms control everything. The plot is in the title and there isn’t any big twist here. It’s a purebred comedy that hinges on the performances. Susan Sarandon is fucking hilarious as Kathryn Hahn’s mom, who is easily my favorite of the three main moms. Hahn oozes with talent and seeing her let loose is just a wonderful treat. This film won’t change your life or anything, but I find it to be quite relieving during stressful times. |
